There have been indicators for decades…and now more and more research is out there that says we have to look at this…about how stress has a severe negative impact on all of us! Moreover, research indicates that due to other complexities in our society, i.e., racism, people of color suffer from various other medical conditions at a higher rate.
As organizations embark on their DEIB efforts, it is critical that they also look at their wellness programs through a DEIB lens — in other words make sure that all employees’ needs are considered, relevant programs are added, and they are able to access these benefits.
Additionally, along with the internal programs, it will be essential that people seek out other methods of self-care and wellness to ensure that they are designing a healthy way of living.
